Legends speak of a beast sent by the All-Father to guard the boundaries between worlds, ensuring no mortal soul escapes its due fate. The Seeker is said to be forged from the very mist that cloaks the mountains, given form by ancient runes etched into stone shrines long before humanity walked this land. It does not eat flesh but rather consumes vitality and memory, leaving only hollow shells in its wake. In Valheim, the creature remains dormant until disturbed by those who seek to control the Eitr-rich resources of the high peaks. When summoned, it awakens with a howl that shakes the ground, signaling the end of safety for any Viking caught within the fog. Its glowing eyes pierce through the gloom, tracking prey not by scent alone, but by the heat of their spirit.

In Their Own Story

The fog was thick enough to taste, salty and cold against my lips. I stood before the stone altar, holding the three ancient seeds in trembling hands. As I placed them upon the rough surface, the mist parted unnaturally. A low growl vibrated through the soles of my boots, rising from the earth itself. From the swirling grey void stepped a wolf made of shadow and light, its fur rippling like smoke caught in a gale. It did not blink; it simply watched, waiting for me to make the first mistake.

Reader's Guide

To summon the Seeker, players must locate an ancient shrine within the Mistlands biome. The altar requires three Ancient Seeds, found by looting chests in Mistland crypts or defeating enemies like Ticks and Gooeys. Once summoned, the boss fight begins immediately. The Seeker utilizes rapid teleportation to close gaps, making melee combat dangerous without a shield. It also fires energy projectiles that can be blocked but may stagger weaker armor sets. During the encounter, it will summon smaller spectral wolves to flank the player. Prioritize eliminating these minions quickly using piercing weapons like bows or crossbows. For optimal damage, equip high-tier piercing gear such as Iron or Black Metal arrows. Blunt weapons like Warhammers are also effective against its ethereal armor. Maintain distance when possible and use terrain cover to break line-of-sight during teleportation phases. Upon defeat, the creature drops a Seeker Trophy, which can be placed on the shrine to claim victory.
